“New York City here I come” – Sick leave

As if pizza by the slice and ample celebrity sightings weren’t enough, working in New York City just got a little better. Starting April 1, 2014, New York City employers with at least 20 employees must provide paid sick days to employees who work more than 80 hours per year. Employers with at least 15 employees have to start October 1, 2015. Employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours they work, up to 40 hours per year.
