New Jersey – New law alert: time off for victims of domestic violence

Remember a couple minutes ago when I was talking about how sometimes the government really cares? (If you need a refresher, scan up a couple lines.) Well it is feel-good-about-the-government round 2! Effective October 1st, employers with 25 or more employees need to provide leave for victims of domestic violence. Victims of domestic violence or a sexually violent offense are eligible for up to 20 days unpaid leave in the 12-month period following the incident.
