Oregon – It is all happening!

Sadly, the 2013 Oregon Legislative Session has come to a close. Sniff, sniff. We hardly knew ye! Okay, lock it up. We have to take a look at what important things went down. Turns out, kind of a lot happened. Here are some highlights:

  • Our partners at Associated Oregon Industries passed a bill that allowed employers to implement direct deposit systems at their discretion (previously employers had to obtain consent from employees).
  • Employers are required to give veteran employees the option to take a paid or unpaid day off for Veterans Day.
  • Employers who are covered by OFLA have to supply 2 weeks unpaid bereavement leave (we will have a full article on this next week, so stay tuned).

Wooosh, and those are just a few of the changes. Click here to find out more.
