Clash of the positions: should I sit or should I stand now?

Question: What is healthier? Sitting or standing at work?

Answer: If you sit there could be trouble. If you stand, there could be double.

A recent study by Cornell University shows that whether you choose to sit or stand at work (I do neither. I’m consistently Batmanning.), you’re in line for some health problems.

Sitting for more than an hour at a time (which I’m sure you never do outside of work) can put you at risk of heart disease – regardless of how much you diet or exercise to make up for it. On the other side, standing is more tiring, increases the likelihood of developing varicose veins, and multiplies the risk of carotid atherosclerosis by 9.

So what is the solution? Here’s the short answer: stand up and move around every 20 or 30 minutes.
